About the Position

We are seeking experienced Senior Engineers to join our expanding team. In this role, you will bridge technical execution, client advisory, and contract administration across diverse, multi-disciplinary projects.

This position is ideal for an accomplished engineer with a proven track record in project leadership, client relations, and contract execution who wants to play a key role in driving YSay’s strategic growth across South Africa.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Lead engineering design reviews, technical assessments, and complex problem solving initiatives to meet client specifications.
• Project Management & Delivery: Manage project lifecycles from inception to completion, ensuring quality control, budget adherence, and timely delivery.
• Contract Advisory & Management: Oversee contract administration (NEC, FIDIC, JBCC, or GCC), managing risks, claims, variations, and transactional requirements with precision.
• Client Engagement & Advisory: Serve as a primary technical liaison for high-level stakeholders, offering strategic technical and transactional counsel.
• Mentorship & Team Growth: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth within the firm.

Required Skills & Educational Background

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BSc, BEng) or BTech in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Registration (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech.Eng) with ECSA is highly desirable or essential depending on discipline specialization.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience, with significant exposure to technical project management and contract administration.
• Key Skills & Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge of South African engineering standards, regulatory frameworks, and standard conditions of contract (NEC, FIDIC, GCC, JBCC).
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical team management and complex project delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen and transactional problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and strategic communication skills.
