About the Position

We are seeking detail driven Project Planners to oversee the development, maintenance, and critical path analysis of integrated schedules across our engineering and infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will be the backbone of project control, converting engineering scopes into realistic baselines, forecasting potential bottlenecks, and ensuring seamless time management to keep our multi-disciplinary projects on track.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development & Maintenance: Build and maintain detailed Primavera P6 or MS Project schedules (WBS, logic networks, resource allocation) from project initiation through completion.
  • Critical Path & Progress Tracking: Monitor baseline performance, conduct Critical Path Method (CPM) analyses, and perform respective assessments to keep projects on schedule.
  • Risk & Delay Forecasting: Identify scheduling risks, perform “what if” scenario modeling, and recommend proactive recovery strategies to project teams and clients.
  • Contractual Support: Provide key scheduling inputs for contract administration and baseline approvals.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate accurate progress reports, dashboard metrics, and interactive visual timelines for project managers, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.

Required Skills & Educational Background

  • Education:
    • National Diploma, BTech, or Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Formal certifications in Primavera P6 or planning frameworks (e.g., PMI, AACE) are highly advantageous.
  • Experience:
    • 3–6+ years of dedicated experience as a Project Planner/Scheduler in engineering, infrastructure, or construction environments.
  • Key Skills & Expertise:
    • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
    • Deep understanding of project control principles, and methodologies.
    • Strong working knowledge of South African engineering and construction standard contracts (NEC, FIDIC, GCC, JBCC).
    • High analytical acumen with exceptional attention to structural detail and clear data presentation.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
