About the Position

We are looking for skilled Project Managers to oversee the planning, execution, and closing of complex technical and engineering projects.

In this role, you will act as the crucial link between engineering technical teams, commercial objectives, and client requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within scope, and aligned with YSay’s standards for precision and excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Delivery: Define project scopes, establish detailed execution schedules, allocate resources, and manage end to end delivery against key performance milestones.
• Contract & Transactional Support: Manage day to day contract workflows (NEC, FIDIC, JBCC, or GCC), ensuring strict compliance with transactional requirements, variation orders, and cost controls.
• Risk & Quality Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and enforce rigorous quality assurance standards across all deliverables.
• Stakeholder & Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track cash flow, review valuations, and optimise cost performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills & Educational Background

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • PMP (PMI) or SACPCMP registration as a Professional Project Manager (Pr.CPM) is highly advantageous.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects within the engineering, construction, or technical consulting sectors.
• Key Skills & Expertise:
  • Proven track record in managing standard conditions of contract in South Africa (NEC, FIDIC, GCC, JBCC).
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools).
  • Strong commercial acumen, risk assessment capabilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and written/verbal communication abilities.
